The 2007 Stirling-Rawdon Bahá’í Summer Camp Presents:

We’ll be roasting marshmallows, swimming, canoeing, fishing and learning about…

So bring your family, friends, a tent and a swimsuit and come on out to the VanderDussen’s lot in Marmora! Enjoy the fun and interesting sessions and the company of some great people! Bring the kids too! There’ll be great activities for them to take part in while the grownups are doing their sessions!

When: August 10th - 12th, 2007

• Arrival and departure are extremely flexible, arrive any time after 2:00 pm on the 10^th, and leave any time after the last session. If you wish to stay extra days or arrive some days early for simple camping fun, that’s fine too! Just let us know when you’re arriving.

Who: Everyone is invited. 

What: We will study:

1. Becoming your True Self - Saturday morning
2. Engaging the Power of Divine Assistance - Saturday afternoon
3. Creating a Divine Civilization - Sunday morning

Saturday night will be a devotional gathering, campfire and wonderful fellowship.

Food: As for food arrangements this year, there will be 2 dinners (Fri & Sat), 2 breakfasts (Sat &Sun), and 2 lunches (Sat & Sun). Please bring enough food for your family for whatever meals you’ll be there for and we’ll have a potluck for each meal, sharing what we’ve all brought!

 If you have coolers or camp stoves, please bring them!

• We usually store all the coolers in the cabin at night and then cook together in the "dining hall" (a.k.a. under a big blue tarp) for meals, and share the cleanup. Food at summer school is a community affair!

Facilities: Extremely limited. Rustic, we like to say. No plumbing or electricity. But it’s beautiful, and totally worth sharing an outhouse with a few dozen friends.

• An outhouse for all out-housing needs
• A lake for all bathing needs
• A VERY small cabin, where we store stuff, and some people can sleep in the upstairs loft if needs be (let us know if you do in your registration)
• A bunch of tarps, a couple of picnic tables, some fire pits, a zillion trees, a swing, and lots of love!

Accomodation: There are several options for accomodation:

• Camping – Bring a tent or sleeping bag, camp out on site! Traditionally, that is what the majority of participants have done, and is definitely the way to get the most out of the weekend.
• Motel / B&B – A listing for one motel and 3 bed and breakfasts in Marmora (10 minutes from the camp’s site) can be found here: http://marmora.org/businessdirectory/index.jsp?category=accommodations
• Day Visit – If you don’t want to spend the night, come down for a day and visit! We will be happy to welcome you and include you in our sessions.

Aside from the camping option, accomodation arrangements are the responsibility of the participant. Please indicate your intended arrangements on your registration.

The costs of the summer camp will be covered by the Baha’i Group of Stirling-Rawdon. If you wish to donate to the local fund to help with these costs feel free to do so. If donations exceed our expenses the surplus will be donated to the Bahá’í National Fund.

Registration is important for the major purpose of figuring out where everyone is going to sleep and how many people to expect in the sessions. But don’t be worried if you don’t figure out you can come until the last minute, we love our drop-in campers every year! We’ll always find room to put you; expect to make new friends.
