Teddy Bears Project

The Teddy Bears project began as the brainchild of the late Diane Stocker In 1996 Mrs. Stocker approached the Aurora Police Department with the idea of producing handmade teddy bears to be given to children who had witnessed, or were the victims of, a traumatic incident. The project has been a coperative effort between the Aurora Bahá’í Community, the Aurora Police Department, and the Aurora Police Foundation Fund. Over two hundred teddy bears have been made and donated to date. The Bahá’ís of Aurora intend to continue the project as a memorial to Diane.
