Our Mission

The divine exhortation "O ye that dwell on earth! The religion of God is for love and unity; make it not the cause of enmity or dissension" is the inspiration for each and every member of the Bahá'í Community of Chandigarh.

The Chandigarh Bahŕ'ě Community

Chandigarh, or the City Beautiful, as it is known in India is one of the planned cities of the world.  Designed by the famous architect LeCarbousier, the City Project was undertaken some 50 years ago and successfully executed.

The Bahŕ'ě Faith came to city right from days of its inception.  However it gained momentum in 1970s and today the city has a thriving Bahŕ'ě community.  One of the outstanding features of the community is the outstanding contribution of the Baha'i youths.  Whether it be in the field of teaching, administration, service projects, children moral classes or home front pioneering, they are the backbone of the community life.

The Chandigarh Bahá'í Community has received a rich shower of God's blessings in its efforts to proclaim the Message of Bahá'u'lláh.  The Community witnessed what is termed as the 'Organic Growth' in the messages of the Universal House of Justice. The Community also participates in many social functions, seminars and exhibitions organised by the Local Government as well as in the programmes organised by the NGOs in the city.  It is often in the news for participation in activities aimed at the service of society.

The Community has its own Bahá'í House, which is the centre of all its activities.  The Community boasts of the first Bahá'í cemetery ever to have been built and handed over by the government authorities to a Bahá'í Community.

We would like to welcome each and every visitor to the website to partake from our share of the divine bounties.
