A LOCAL BRILLIANT STAR

Ruha Heydari, age 10, is featured as a "Brilliant Star" in Brilliant Star Magazine this month. Here's what she writes:

"My best quality is that I always have a smile on my face and say hello to everyone when I see them.

"When I grow up I want to be a vet. I love animals and would like to take care of them.

"Things I like to do with my Bahá’í friends and family are to read stories about Baha’u’llah and Abdu'l-Baha with my family, and spending time with The Setablaze Dance Workshop which I‘m a member of.

"My hobbies are karate, swimming, playing soccer, and basketball.

"Peer pressure doesn’t get to me because the Baha’i teachings have taught me to be firm in my beliefs. I can always depend on my family to give me advice and comfort; therefore, I don’t even have to think about what I should do. Talking to my parents and my sister always helps me in every situation."

Ruha lives in Marin County with her parents and sister.
