Association For Bahá’í Studies in
Southern Africa

The Activities of the Association consists of:
1. An annual conference is held during which members of the Association and other interested persons will have an opportunity to read scholarly and research papers in subject areas of interest and relevance to the Bahá'í community.
2. One or more courses are offered in a formal and systematic manner to promote the study of the Bahá'í Faith, its history, teachings, beliefs and practices.
3. A newsletter is published in paper or electronic format to keep the members of the Association informed of the events and activities of the Association.
4. A selection of written articles, either from the proceedings of the annual conference or submitted separately is published by the Association.
5. Opportunities are explored to publicly or privately comment on appropriate current affairs, and matters of concern to the general public with a view to present the spiritual principles enshrined in the Bahá'í Writings, to a wide spectrum of people including leaders of thought, prominent people, people of capacity, intellectuals, other like-minded and non-governmental organizations, and more generally the public.
6. The Association will establish a research library (in electronic or paper format) that will be a clearing house of materials of relevance to the study of development, environment, gender, and other topics of particular interest to the Bahá’í community in Southern Africa.
