Unity Youth Workshop

Upcoming Performances:

There are currently no performance scheduled in the near future. The Youth Workshop is in the process of rebuilding with many new members.

The Unity Youth Workshop performs in theaters, schools, parks, clubs, churches and other places where invited to perform. Because these youth are giving their time and energy as a service to humanity, their performances are always free.

Since its beginning in February 1995 the Unity Youth Workshop has performed at many places in and around the Treasure Valley. The following are just a few of the many places they have performed:

The Unity Youth Workshop is one of over 150 Bahá'í Youth Workshops around the world. Through the use of the performing arts such as dance, drama, and music the Unity Youth Workshop promotes positive social messages including the unity of humanity. They have dances which directly reflect the racial struggle which has plagued this nation for almost 300 years; the equality of women and men; the detrimental consequences of drug and alcohol abuse; the celebrations of our unity in diversity; the social issues we face in our society and the positive remedies for them.

"Recently I had the opportunity to see the Unity Youth Workshop perform. To say that I was moved to tears would be an understatement. This group of talented youth have such an inspiring yet important message to impart. They tackle issues like drugs, violence, gangs, racism and peer pressure with a grace and maturity rarely found in such a young performing group. I highly recommend this show to people of all ages and walks of life. Prepare to be moved."--Amy Ridenour, Drama Teacher, Lake Hazel Middle School

"Every time I watch your "kids" I wish for two things - I wish I had children who could participate and I wish everyone - every parent, student, employer, teacher, addict, alcoholic, inmate, politician, and TV General Manager could see your programs at least one time. ...As I watched the dance on drugs, again I was tremendously impressed. The message was so clearly presented. The end is so profound... Someday I would love to watch other students watch your programs. I would like to see their reactions."--Pat Jarvis, Marketing Coordinator, Drug and Alcohol Testing Services

The Unity Youth Workshop
Youth for Youth
Promoting Unity in Diversity

Begun in February 1995, and based on youth workshops developed worldwide by the Bahá'í Faith, the Unity Youth Workshop is an alternative outlet for youth to communicate with each other about issues facing our world through interpretive dance, rap, choir and discussion. Unity of purpose, mind and spirit is the goal and any skill brought to the workshop by any youth is put to use. Membership requires only an understanding of purpose and desire to ask questions about this world, to listen to the questions being asked by other youth and to help develop alternatives.

For more information about the Unity Youth Workshop, to book a performance, for a list of upcoming performances, or community services they can participate in, contact the Boise Bahá'í Community.

The Unity Youth Workshop is sponsored by the Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Boise.
