There has been an active Bahá'í community in Chilliwack since 1972, and today there are approximately 60 Bahá'ís residing here. The first Local Spiritual Assembly of Chilliwack–a nine member body that guides the administrative affairs of the local community–was elected on April 21, 1979. The Chilliwack Bahá'í community is a diverse group of families and individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Members of the Chilliwack Bahá'í community often come together for prayer, social and study gatherings, Holy Day celebrations and more. The Baha'is of Chilliwack annually celebrate Unity in Diversity Week by holding a multi-faith devotional gathering at City Hall.
