Early Baha'i Heroines:
The Bahá'í writings offer a potent vision of the qualities for which women must strive and the changes they can effect in the world; and the history of the Bahá'í Faith offers many examples of outstanding women who serve as models or paradigms of this "new womanhood." Two women in particular stand out, one associated with qualities of strength and audacity and the other with tenderness and servitude. The first is Táhirih, the Persian poetess and fearless defender of the Bábí Faith, for which she eventually suffered a martyr's death, and the second is Bahíyyih Khánum, the daughter of Bahá'u'lláh who served her Father selflessly throughout His life, forgoing marriage and the establishment of a family of her own in order to care for Him.

Planet Baha'i:
Given that equality of women and men is a crucial Bahá'í principle, it's not surprising that the history of our Faith is liberally populated with prominent women. Let's take a moment to remember a few of them.

Prophecy Fulfilled:
Each of the world's major religions contain Messianic prophecies. Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, the Zoroastrian religion and even the Native American religions all foretell the coming of a Promised One. Each of the Founders of these great religions either promised to personally return himself, to send another like himself or in some instances.... the Founder promised to do both.

The Baha'is - Christians of the Second Advent:
The Baha'i Faith is not a "Church", but an independent World Religion. It seeks to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. The Baha'i Faith accepts Jesus Christ as "the Very Savior of Man". It accepts the Bible as the "Word of God", but not the only Word of God. It accepts Christianity as a True Religion, but not the only True Religion; nor the last Revelation of God for mankind.

|
Hinduism and the Baha'i Faith:
This website is based on a book called "Hinduism and the Baha'i Faith". The book and the web-site are an attempt to explore the relationship between Hinduism and the Baha'i Faith and also to explain the Baha'i Faith to those who are from a Hindu background.

Harmony of Science and Religion:
`Alí, the son-in-law of Muhammad, said: "That which is in conformity with science is also in conformity with religion." Whatever the intelligence of man cannot understand, religion ought not to accept. Religion and science walk hand in hand, and any religion contrary to science is not the truth. -- `Abdu'l-Bahá, Wisdom of `Abdu'l-Bahá.
