EXAMPLES OF BAHÁ'Í
PRAYERS
"O contending peoples and kindreds of the earth! Set your
faces towards unity, and let the radiance of its light shine upon you.
Gather ye together, and for the sake of God resolve to root out whatever is
the source of contention amongst you. ... There can be no doubt whatever
that the peoples of the world, of whatever race or religion, derive their
inspiration from one heavenly Source, and are the subjects of one God."
(from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh)
"O Thou Who are the Lord of Lords! I testify that Thou are
the Lord of all creation, and the Educator of all beings, visible and
invisible. I bear witness that Thy power hath encompassed the entire
universe, and that the hosts of the earth can never dismay Thee, nor can the
dominion of all peoples and nations deter Thee from executing Thy purpose. I
confess that Thou hast no desire except the regeneration of the whole world,
and the establishment of the unity of its peoples, and the salvation of all
them that dwell therein."
(from the Writings of Bahá'u'lláh)
"I ADJURE Thee by Thy might, O my God! Let no harm beset me
in times of tests, and in moments of heedlessness guide my steps aright
through Thine inspiration. Thou art God, potent art Thou to do what Thou
desirest. No one can withstand Thy Will or thwart Thy Purpose."
(from the Writings of the Báb)
