Our local history 1960-2001
The Bahá'í Centre in Fallowfield was officially opened 27 May 1962. It was donated to the local assembly for use as a Bahá'í Centre by several local Bahá'ís.

Today there are local Bahá'í communities in central Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, and Wilmslow, among others. (A full list of Bahá'í communities in England with websites is available here.)

Many of these communities use the Bahá'í Centre. From time to time it is also used for some UK national or English regional events.

Much work still needs to be done to compile our local history. Early Bahá'ís in the area, such as Mr and Mrs Sugar, Mr E T Hall, Mrs Nonnie Crossley, the Joseph brothers, and many others, will be researched in the coming years.
