A number of Bahá'ís gathered at Lake Worth, Florida on Feb 23 & 24 to reproduce in chalk a painting by Tom Perkinson’s ('Spirit of White Bird') on the streets of Lake Worth. The effort was a part of an ongoing outreach program by Lake Worth, a member of the Palm Beach Cluster. The painting was seen by thousands of people in this very popular festival. Over a hundred teaching cards were given out, with a picture of the painting and information on the Bahá'i Faith and local activities on the reverse side. On Saturday, two Bahá'ís gave an interview to a team of students from the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute that hopefully would be placed on the internet. Bahá'ís from the Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade clusters participated in the project. Shown in the picture, left to right, are Jasper Leahy, Renee Pfeilsticker, Nabil Urban, Ginny Mair, Tom Carsey, Woodline Mentor and Rose Mentor. Photo by T. Carsey © 2008 . |
