Our summer school offers the
opportunity to connect with youth from all over the Atlantic region.
The young people who attend our summer
school have a fantastic time. Our keynote presenters give the same classes to
the youths as they do to the adults. After classes in the afternoons, youths
can go swimming, hiking or canoeing. At night, we hold campfires, and our talent
show is the social highlight of the entire event. If you have a knack for
music, dance or any of the arts, why not come and share it with us?
For youth and adults alike, the
cost of going to summer school can be an issue. However, if you plan ahead
you’ll find that it’s not out of reach. You could try saving a little money
throughout the year. You could put aside a portion of your allowance,
babysitting money or recycling refunds with an aim of using it to pay for
your trip to summer school. You could also organize fund-raising event with
other youth. It helps if you begin planning and building your summer school
fund as early as possible.
You will find that the time,
effort and money spent getting to summer school is worth the effort. Summer
school is a good place to deepen your knowledge and appreciation of the Bahá’í
Faith, to make new friends and to consult with other young people about how you can
best serve Bahá’u’lláh.
“The future has always belonged to
youth, and now more than ever before, in order to ensure the fulfillment
of Bahá'u'lláh's plans for this
planet, the youth must labour and pioneer. Now is
the time, therefore, to consecrate yourselves and prepare yourselves for the
work that lies ahead of you, and of all the young Bahá'ís the
world-over.
You must study both the teaching and the Administration, in
order to be ready and qualified--qualified with both knowledge and shining
personal characters…”
