Who We Are
Aims
The SSI is a student society within the faculty of health sciences. It has two aims: 1) It seeks to establish a cohesive group of health science students of all disciplines. These students participate in a series of workshops, the purpose of which is to allow the students to gain insight into a number of principles regarding sustainable development and also to allow them to gain the skills and attitudes needed to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team. 2) It seeks to render some form of service to a carefully selected community. The nature of the service project chosen must be such that it is sustainable i.e. that it imparts skill and empowers those who are involved in it to continue the process among themselves or among those from a new community.
Members We are a group of health sciences students in different years of study who are all interested in community health and development.
