"The Activity Generator" Strand 3c – social skills.

Sequencing - which sequence of episodes would make the best film, etc. Ask the students to sequence some facts which you have written on cards and present as a short talk - then let the class constructively criticise the particular sequence chosen.

Game-Creating – create a fun game about anything involving the Faith.

Give a talk/presentation - Gradually get young students used to explaining things to each other as a step on the way to giving talks. Give short simple topics to children from their early years.  Talks could be pre-written at first and read out; when more confident, make notes only and talk to the notes.

Role-playing – they could pretend to be host for a meeting and welcome people; some pretend to gossip about someone and others put them right; one pretends not to be Bahá’í, questions the others about the Faith.

Discussion – together with role-playing, this activity will feature a lot for this strand, as students report on social occasions and ask for advice about how to deal with certain situations; discussion of how to socialise would come first, then role-play to see how easy to put into practice.
