Preparation:
Map of Iran per child. Illustrated page and crossword per child. Crayons etc.

Revision and Introduction:
Mulla Husayn was a faithful follower of Siyyid Kazim.
(A Siyyid is a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad).
Although he was only young, he was strong minded and determined. That was why Siyyid Kazim chose him to take his message to the priest in Isfahan.
Do you remember how Siyyid Kazim chose him, saying these words, "Arise and perform this mission, for I declare you equal to this task. The Almighty will graciously assist you, and will crown your endeavour with success".?

Story for this lesson:
Mulla Husayn sprang joyously to his feet, kissed the hem of the Siyyid's coat, and promised to do exactly as he was asked.  When he arrived in Isfahan, he asked where he might find the priest, who was called Haji Siyyid Muhammad Baqir-i-Rashti, and, although very dusty from his travels, he went straight to him. The Siyyid was surrounded by his disciples and not one of them noticed Mulla Husayn enter and take a seat in front of their master. When he saw all the people in their rich clothes, he prayed to God to give him courage to speak to them. Then he spoke to the Siyyid "Hearken, 0 Siyyid, to my words, for response to my plea will ensure the safety of the Faith of the Prophet of God, and refusal to consider my message will cause it grievous injury".
The Siyyid was very surprised by these bold words and he stopped talking to his disciples to listen to Mulla Husayn. The disciples were also surprised and told Mulla Husayn off for interrupting them. Then, very politely, Mulla Husayn told them that they had been the discourteous ones, and the Siyyid himself apologised. He promised to listen carefully and said that he had not defended the cause of Siyyid Kazim because many things confused him. Mulla Husayn replied that he should find out straight away the answers to his .questions, and with God's help Mulla Husayn would help him. That very night the Siyyid asked his questions, until he was happy that Siyyid Kazim was speaking the truth.
The Siyyid promised to help Siyyid Kazim by talking to the people, and by writing a letter which Siyyid Kazim could show to the people who were causing trouble.
Mullaliusayn went back to the place he was staying at, little knowing that a servant of the Siyyid was following him. The servant saw Mulla Ilusayn enter a very poor building with no furniture in it. He saw Mulla Husayn pray on the thin mat in his room and then wrap himself up in his aba to sleep on the floor.
The servant returned to his master with this story, and the Siyyid gave him some money to give to Mulla Husayn. Mulla Husayn would not accept the gift as he had had the best gift; the Siyyid's promise to help Siyyid Kazim.
Then Mulla Husayn left for Mashhad to visit Mirza Askari with a letter from Siyyid Kazim.
Mulla Husayn arrived back in Karbila to find that his beloved Siyyid Kazim had died, and the disciples had lost heart.
They cheered up when they saw Mulla Husayn, and said that if he were the Promised One, they would do whatever he asked. Mulla Husayn replied that he was not, and wanted to know what Siyyid Kazim's last message had been.
"We are to leave everything, pray, and search for the Promised One", they replied.
Mulla Husayn wanted to know why they were still in Karbila and had not already started on their journey. They gave many excuses, the children of Siyyid Kazim had to be cared for, or they had to be careful of their enemies. Mulla Husayn decided to leave them alone and to prepare himself for the greatest adventure.
He would start to search for the Promised One.
