CBMT™ Candidacy Requirements

Candidacy requirements define the parameters on the basis of which an applicant shall be evaluated fit for applying for a particular BCI certification. Candidacy requirements vary across certifications:

Educational Requirements

To attain a CBMT™ certification, an applicant should preferably be an undergraduate from a recognized university, and an A-Level/O-Level/Higher Secondary/12th grade, who has completed 14 years of formal education.

Professional/Work Requirements

Applicants coming from non-BPO backgrounds, are expected to have a minimum prior experience of 24 months as trainers in customer care, soft skills development, accounting, computer operations, language, team building, etc. and should have conducted trainings for employees of banks, telecom companies; airlines; large travel companies; insurance companies; retail stores.

For applicants who have a BPO or a contact center background, the minimum prior work experience required is of 12 months as a trainer in any of the outsourcing domains including customer service, back-office services, finance & accounting, technical support, data processing.

For applicants who have the BCI CFPS‌™/CBSS‌™/CTSS‌™/CCIS‌™ certification, 6 months is the minimum work experience required as a trainer in a BPO organization after their CFPS‌™/CBSS‌™/CTSS‌™/CCIS‌™ certification.

Age

An applicant should have ideally completed minimum 21 years of age at the time of applying for CBMT™. There is no upper age bar, however for any BCI certification program.

Important: BCI reserves the right to reject the candidacy of an applicant during any time of the application process, if the documentary proofs submitted are found to have false information.

CBMT™ Exam

The BPO Professional Certifications Board (BPCB) mandates that individuals desirous of acquiring a BCI certifications require to qualify computer–based exams based on the BCI standards framework. All BCI Exams are computer–based tests timed between 120 - 150 minutes. Applicants registered in BCI certification program enjoy the convenience of scheduling and taking their certification exams online. Partner companies, organizations and universities establish their own BCI-approved exam centers connected to the BCI online examination system Credent. In many global locations, certification testing leader ExamStrong™ manages BCI exams offering registrants the facility to take their BCI exams even at home or in office.

CBMT™ Training & Preparation Completion Requirements

It is not compulsory to take training to be eligible for taking the CBMT™ certification. However, an applicant can choose to either self-study or register with an authorized BCI training provider to prepare for the exam.

Those choosing to pursue with an BCI Authorized Training Center have to pay an additional fee for the training. In this process, all the registrant get complete assistance in learning through online resources and printed material provided by BCI partner.

Self-Study

Important Note:

  1. All the aspiring CBMT™ certificants needs to furbish their Referee Report to match the eligibility criteria.

  2. The referee might be your supervisor or senior managers, whose Work-Performance Report is considered as a Feedback or evaluation from their side on your work performance, professional competence and ethics.

  3. The referee has to log into the BCI assessment portal, and click on the required link to fill the Report and submit.

  4. An assignment needs to be submitted by the CBMT™ registrant. This is a mandatory report assigned by BCI.

  5. BCI instructs the applicant to submit the Assignment Report in MS Word format and upload it in the designated location on BCI Assessment/Dissertation portal.

  6. A typical Assignment Report/Dissertation would have a word-count of 7000 and carry 200 marks.

CBMT™ Certification Validity

The CBMT™ certification is valid for exactly three years from the date of award. BCI keeps on inculcating new trends and knowledge, as per the industry waves so that the registrant learns about the ever evolving BPO industry. Upgrade to become a CBMT™

CBMT‌™ Recertification

Your CBMT™ certification is valid for 3 years and to continue your qualification, you have to recertify. Recertification implies making your CBMT™ credential valid again before its validity expires in 3 years. Keeping your CBMT™ alive and active through recertification is easy. There will be frequent recertification reminder emails and text messages from BCI and from other BCI partners associated with you and you simply have to click the links mentioned in these communications, or log into your BCI account and register for CBMT™ recertification. Remember, training is NOT mandatory for recertification and you have to only register and complete some documentary formalities. In case you have not been working for more than last three months at the time of applying for the recertification, you will be required to take the CBMT™ recertification examination.

How many times can you Recertify for CBMT™?

BCI permits unlimited number of recertification chances for CBMT™ and your CBMT™ qualification can expire only if it has not been “refreshed” once in three years. You will receive frequent reminders from BCI and other BCI partners on this and there are exciting upgrade offers, which you can grab and get fee discounts.

When to apply for a Recertification for CBMT™?

You should apply for recertification at least 8 weeks prior to the date of expiry of your CBMT™ certification. This date is mentioned on your CBMT™ certification as well. In addition, you will receive frequent reminders from BCI to this effect. Remember, if your CBMT™ recertification application is NOT received by BCI till two weeks before the expiry of your certification, your recertification request will be only processed as a fresh CBMT™ application and you will have to pay the applicable full CBMT™ fee.

How to Recertify for CBMT™?

Recertification for CBMT™ is a simple 3-step process:

You can enroll for recertification directly with BCI on one of the BCI portals or take the assistance of the training provider with whom you prepared for CBMT™ the last time or any of the authorized BCI training providers nearest to you. Once you register and pay the required fee, you will receive the CBMT™ recertification voucher and all other relevant information about your training and assessments etc., through email including the login details of your recertification account. You can pay for your recertification on the BCI portal either directly through your credit/debit card or buy a recertification voucher from your local authorized BCI training provider. Remember there are no PCC or training requirements and hence, you may directly qualify for the CBMT™ recertification after completing the recertification formalities as mentioned in step 2 below. Indeed, do remember to enroll early if you want to enjoy the fee benefit!
Once you have applied for a CBMT™ recertification, you are required to complete the following BCI-prescribed formalities after logging into your account:
  • Submission of your latest Curriculum Vitae in the format available on the CBMT™ Recertification section of the BCI portal.
  • Complete the Online Training Delivery Experience Report documenting key aspects of your learnings and achievements since attaining the CBMT™ certification as instructed.
  • Request your direct senior or the reporting officer (Referee) to submit a Confidential Work-Performance Report for you in the prescribed format. This is done online by your referee by logging in directly into the BCI assessment portal.
  • In case you have not been working for three months or more prior to the date of applying for your CBMT™ recertification, you will be required to take the CBMT™ recertification examination. You can schedule your examination by choosing online a particular date and time combination from the BCI examination schedule available in the examination section.
You are there now. If you qualify all prescribed BCI norms on knowledge and competence prerequisites and all documentation requirements are complete, your CBMT™ credential stands reactivated for another one year and your new CBMT™ Credential Pack reaches you in 30-45 days maximum.
